To use the Kickstarter Pledge Manager tool, we will require that your project meets all of the below criteria:
- Your rewards have all been properly itemized,
- The prices set for your rewards do not include VAT or sales tax,
- All items in an order will be shipped from one location,
- You have not already sent a survey to your backers and,
- You are not using another pledge manager service for this campaign.
If my project is eligible, how do I access the Kickstarter Pledge Manager?
For all projects, the ‘Pledge manager’ tool will become available in the creator navigation, to the left of your project page, once your project has launched.
For projects that have already launched and meet the above criteria, you will see the ‘Pledge manager’ option in the creator navigation. If your project is ineligible you will instead see ‘Backer survey’.
If you change your mind about using Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager, you can choose not to launch it and switch to using the survey tool only via the banner at the top of the pledge manager page. In this case, you will need to coordinate with your backers an alternative way to collect any shipping costs.
Changed your mind again? No worries, as long as you haven’t already launched the Backer Survey you can opt back in to the Pledge Manager by clicking the “Use pledge manager” button at the top of the survey page.
I ran a campaign on a third-party platform, can I use Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager?
Unfortunately not, Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager is only available for campaigns that ran on Kickstarter and meet our above eligibility requirements.
Creators with a successful Kickstarter campaign can choose to use Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager tool, or a third-party service.
