Yes, if you are using Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager! Creators managing the next stage of their campaign with our Pledge Manager tool will have the option to send backers their tracking numbers and any digital reward codes through the backer report.
To send something to a single backer, simply click the three dots under the gear icon for that backer and select the action you wish to take.
When multiple backers are selected, you’ll see a menu appear at the bottom of the screen showing you the available bulk actions.
Sending tracking numbers
To help your backers know when their rewards are expected to be delivered you can use the backer report to send them the tracking number for their order. You can choose to either select a single backer and send one tracking number at a time, or select multiple backers and send all tracking numbers in one go.
To bulk upload tracking numbers, select multiple backers using the checkboxes on the left side of the backer report. You will see an option to download a CSV template* in the window that pops up. Next, open this template on your device and enter a tracking number for each backer in the relevant column of the spreadsheet. Save the file, upload the spreadsheet within the same window, and once uploaded click “Add tracking numbers”.
When a tracking number is added we’ll send this to the backer in an email and add it to the ‘Backing details’ tab of their pledge summary page.
If there are backers who were previously sent their tracking number via the backer report, and they are included within the uploaded spreadsheet, we’ll replace the existing tracking number unless you click the button to skip those backers.
If we encounter any issues matching the tracking numbers, it’s likely that the content in the spreadsheet needs to be re-formatted and uploaded again. If you’re still having trouble after that, please contact our Support team.
*The CSV file can be opened in any spreadsheet program, such as Numbers, Microsoft Excel, or Google Sheets.
Sending digital rewards
If your project included digital rewards that only require a code or URL to access, you will have the option within the backer report to send these to your backers. This can be either a unique access or shared access code. Once added we’ll send the backers an email with their digital reward access code and any instructions, if included.
When sending unique access codes to multiple backers at once, make sure to separate each entry with a comma, and only add one unique access code per recipient. For example, if you are sending digital rewards to 10 backers, make sure to add or upload a CSV file with only 10 unique codes. If you wish to send a unique access code to a specific backer, you will need to send this to them individually.
For a shared access code, simply paste the one code or URL where backers will be able to access their reward and this will be sent to all selected backers.
Please note, while a URL can be shared for backers to access their digital rewards, it isn’t possible to host digital files through Kickstarter.
