When you create a Kickstarter account, a basic profile page is created for you. It displays your chosen account name, the date the account was created, a list of projects you have backed or launched, and whether you are a Superbacker. You can also add as much or as little information as you want — like a profile picture, a bio, a link to your website or social media, and a personalized vanity URL.
For fun, each profile includes a colorful “pie” that shows which categories you’ve backed projects in. Back a project in every category to fill your pie with colorful slices!
Your profile page isn’t searchable on Kickstarter, and it can’t be found via search engines like Google. But whenever your account name appears on the site (for instance, when you post comments or send messages), people can click that account name to see your profile. Make sure anything you add follows our Community Guidelines, and don’t share personal information that you’re uncomfortable with others seeing.
Can I make my profile private?
Profiles on Kickstarter are private by default. To check the status of yours, go to the Edit profile tab under Settings and scroll to the bottom of the page. There you will see the heading "Privacy" with a checkbox underneath, make sure this box is checked to set your profile to private.
For transparency, creators will not be able to set their full profile to private.
