A vanity URL is a personalized URL for your Kickstarter account. Instead of a series of numbers (e.g., /profile/1234567890), your profile can be recognized with a name or word of your choosing (e.g., /profile/ralphwiggum). If you'd like to create one, you can do so on the Edit profile tab of your Settings.
As a project creator, you’ll also see the option to create a vanity URL for your Kickstarter account when completing the People section of your project editor.
If you set a vanity URL prior to launching your project this will change your project’s URL. Instead of the default series of numbers (e.g., /projects/1234567890/project-title), the URL will include your chosen name or word (e.g., /projects/ralphwiggum/project-title).
When setting a vanity URL remember to make sure it’s relevant to you as a creator, and not specific to the project. The vanity URL you enter will be used for all other campaigns launched from your creator account.
Can I reset my vanity URL?
If you made a mistake when entering your vanity URL, or would like to choose something different, you can request a vanity URL reset by contacting our Support team and they’ll be happy to help.
It’s important to keep in mind that resetting the vanity URL may cause existing URLs to break. For instance, if you are linking to your Kickstarter profile from somewhere else on the web, it would be a good idea to update this after resetting your vanity URL.
