How do I log in with Facebook?
In the coming months we will be discontinuing the ability to log in via Facebook and will be requiring everyone to use a Kickstarter password. This will ensure you have consistent access to your account and enable our engineering team to focus on delivering new features. To set a new password, please follow these steps:
- Go to kickstarter.com and select “Log in”
- Select “Continue with Facebook”
- You’ll then be prompted to set a new password
If you’re already logged in, please log out and then follow these steps.
How can I change the email address associated with my account?
To update the email address associated with your Kickstarter account you’ll first need to login to your account using the email address currently associated with it. Once you’ve logged in:
- Head over to your Account page and replace your old email with the email address you wish to use instead.
- Confirm your changes by entering your current password in the field below.
- Click “Save settings,” and you should see a pop-up screen confirming your changes.
For security reasons, we require all Kickstarter users to verify their email addresses. So keep an eye out for a verification email from us in order to finalize your email address change.
Please note: it isn’t possible to use an email address on more than one Kickstarter account. If you are seeing an error message that the email you are trying to enter is already in use, we recommend entering an alternative email address.
Check out this article for how to update your email address or password through the Kickstarter app.

Can I consolidate multiple accounts?
Each Kickstarter account must be linked to a unique email address. As such we don’t support merging accounts. However, there are a few options that can help you to consolidate your accounts:
- If you have any live pledges, you can cancel those and re-pledge on your preferred account. This would help to keep all of your pledges in one place for the future.
- Please note that it is not possible to transfer a pledge from one Kickstarter account to another. If a pledge has been collected already it will remain on the account that made the pledge.
- Alternatively, you can delete any accounts you no longer wish to use to free up an email address.
- Please note that when a Kickstarter account is deleted this will also delete the entire backed projects history associated with that account.
I forgot my password, how do I log in?
To request a password reset, click the 'Forgot?' link on the login page. Then enter the email address associated with your account and we'll send over an email with a link to reset your password.
We recommend making sure that you are fully logged out of Kickstarter before clicking the password reset link. Additionally, please make sure to click the password reset link from the email address associated with your account. If you are opening this email at a forwarding address, the link will not work.
My email address is not recognized when I try to reset my password?
If your email address is not recognized when trying to send the password reset email, it’s possible you may have used a different email address to register your account.
If you’re certain that you’re entering the correct email, it could be that the email address entered may have had a typo or a variant spelling. In this case, you’ll need to get in touch with us to answer a few security questions in order for us to locate your Kickstarter account.
Please contact our Support team and we’ll be happy to help you with this process as quickly as possible. Please have the details of your most recent pledge handy before contacting us.
I’m not receiving emails from Kickstarter
If you’re having difficulty receiving emails from Kickstarter for a project you’ve backed, we recommend first double-checking your email notification settings. To do so, sign in to your Kickstarter account and go to the Notifications page. Here you'll see icons for email and mobile notifications that can be turned on or off by toggling the corresponding icons.
I received a notification stating emails from Kickstarter have been bouncing
As a first step, follow the link provided on the notification in order to check the email address that is currently tied to your Kickstarter account and update it if necessary.
If everything is in order, meaning the email address is correct (i.e. free of typos) and active, we encourage you to add no-reply@kickstarter.com to your contacts list. This helps to ensure that our emails to you are not being intercepted by a spam filter.
If you're still not receiving emails from Kickstarter, it’s possible that there may be an issue with your email provider. Please try reaching out to them next, to see if anything might be going on on their end.
In instances where you have tried all of the above and are still experiencing email delivery issues, please contact our Support team for further troubleshooting.
