If you notice a charge on your bank or card statement that you do not recognize, we encourage you to do the following:
-
Take a look at your previous pledges on your Backed projects page
Under the ‘Successful pledges’ section, you will see all the pledges for projects that ended successfully and for which you have been charged.- This section will include any Late Pledges, as well as any new orders created through Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager.
-
Confirm if Pledge Over Time was selected for any of your active pledges
When Pledge Over Time is selected as the payment method, a pledge is split into 3 equal payments, collected over 3 months. The first charge will have been collected when the project ended successfully.- For example: If a campaign ends on June 1, your card will be charged for the 3 payments on June 1, July 1, and August 1.
-
Check your other email addresses
If you have more than one email address, check to see if they may have been used to create another Kickstarter account. This includes any accounts that you may have linked to an Apple ID or Facebook account. -
Reach out to other members of your household
Check with members of your family, household, or peers that have access to shared payment methods to see if they recognize the charge. -
Double check the charge descriptor
As a reminder, all transactions from our site will appear on your card statement with the charge descriptor, “KICKSTARTER.COM”. If the charge descriptor is different, this is not a Kickstarter charge and you should contact your card issuer directly for further assistance.
If you still don’t recognize the charge, please contact our Support team via this link.
To help us identify the unrecognized charge, we ask that you upload a screenshot of the charge itself as an attachment when submitting your request.
