For projects launching from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and Poland, creators now have the option to choose whether to run their project in their country’s native currency, or in euros. The currency selected will be shown publicly on the project page, all pledges will be collected in it, and the final payout will be sent in the chosen currency.
For creators who qualify for Euro Currency Flexibility we recommend checking with your financial institution that the bank account you are using for the final payout supports transfers in euros, before selecting this currency.
You will see the option to choose your project’s currency on either the Basics or Funding tab of the project editor, depending on the category you are launching in. You can change from the country’s native currency to euros, or vice versa, up until a bank account is added, at which point the selection is locked in.
If you decide to change your currency selection after setting the amounts for your funding goal and reward tiers (including shipping), you will need to go back and adjust these to reflect the value in the new currency. Changing the currency selection does not automatically convert the amounts previously entered (for example, changing from EUR to SEK when the funding goal was set to 100 EUR, will result in the new funding goal being 100 SEK).
Please note: The Kickstarter fees for running your project in the country’s native currency will remain unchanged. If running your project in euros the fees will be exactly the same as for our other European markets. You will only ever pay one set of fees, never both.
