The “About the creator” section can be found on the Creator tab of a project page and will display some basic information about yourself, much of which can also be found on your public profile page:
- Profile name and picture
- ID verification status, including verified name
- Location and biography
- The date you last logged in, as well as when your account was created
- Number of created projects*
- Number of backed projects
- Links to your website and/or social media pages
- Collaborators of the project
- Any badges associated with your account
- An overview of your other projects
- Including a fulfillment indicator for each project
People will be able to access your “About the creator” section by clicking on the Creator tab of your project page, and anyone with a Kickstarter account will be able to send you a message.
You can update some of the details within this section by heading to the Edit profile tab of your Settings. You’ll also have the option to complete or update your profile information as you create your project, within the People tab of your project editor.
*If you are a repeat creator, please note that the number of created projects will update as soon as your new project goes live. This means your “project preview” page won’t show the most up-to-date information because the project isn’t technically live yet.
What are badges and how do I receive them?
To help give backers some additional insight into the creator behind a project, we have a selection of badges that we automatically add when an account meets the criteria necessary for each one.
- Repeat Creator: We’ll add this badge to a creator’s account after they have launched 2 or more projects on Kickstarter.
- Backer Favorite: This badge indicates that the creator has received a high volume of positive feedback from their backers on a previous successful project.
- Superbacker: A Superbacker badge will be added to an account when the user has pledged $10 or more to at least 25 projects in a year.
Kickstarter Team: When an account belongs to a verified employee of Kickstarter we apply this badge to their account to let our community know.
