A Superbacker is a user who has supported more than 25 Kickstarter projects with pledges of at least $10 in the past year.
Superbackers are at the heart of our backer community, with many offering advice to creators, guiding other backers, and helping to introduce projects to new audiences.
How do I know how close I am to Superbacker status?
You will be able to check your Superbacker status on your profile page. If you are already a Superbacker, you will see a Superbacker badge underneath your profile image. You can choose whether or not you’d like this badge to display to other users on your Account settings page.
If you’re not yet a Superbacker, you will see a status progress tracker there instead. This is only visible to you, regardless of your privacy settings. On this tracker, you can see how many projects you have backed that count toward Superbacker status. From here, you can also easily discover projects to back, so that you can unlock Superbacker status and all its perks.
How will people know I’m a Superbacker?
When you become a Superbacker, a badge will be added to the “About” tab of your profile page. This badge will also show up next to your profile name when leaving a comment on a project page. Additionally, you’ll receive an email from Kickstarter congratulating you on becoming a Superbacker.
What special features do Superbackers have access to?
Superbackers will receive occasional email updates with inside news from Kickstarter (make sure you're subscribed to receive these), as well as the opportunity to test new features and provide feedback to our team. Superbackers may also receive invitations to Kickstarter events and have opportunities to be featured in Kickstarter’s marketing channels.
Quoted Comments
As a Superbacker, you will also have access to the Quoted Comments feature. Using this feature, a Superbacker can highlight a specific area of text on a project’s campaign, up to 300 characters, and start a comment.
This feature is intended to spark a conversation between backers and the creator, and to ask questions about a specific element of the project. This may include asking for clarification where needed, or for the creator to substantiate a claim.
To use this feature, simply highlight a line of text in the project’s description. When a section of text has been highlighted, a box will pop up asking if you would like to quote this text. Clicking “Start a comment” will take you to the comments section, where the selected text will appear as a quote at the top. Write your comment or question beneath the quoted text.
Note: This feature is only available on projects that you've backed.
Please note that at this time Quoted Comments is only available via desktop browsers.
