In order to launch a project as a business or nonprofit entity, an owner or executive of the business or nonprofit entity must verify their identity information. This individual will be considered the entity’s Representative, and they must have the authority to represent the entity, and raise and receive funds on its behalf. The Representative’s name will be publicly listed on the project, and it is a requirement that they take part in the creation of the project.
Please note that using a Representative who isn't taking part in your project can result in actions such as Kickstarter canceling your project, as well as damage to your reputation.
The entity’s information, including name, address, and tax ID will also be verified. Additionally, any individuals or other businesses that own a significant stake in the entity, and any individuals who serve as directors of the entity, must verify their information too, as requested.
What are Additional Owners?
Additional owners are individuals or other businesses that have at least a 25% stake in the entity. If the business or nonprofit running the project has additional owners, then their details will also need to be verified when completing the Payment tab of the project editor.
