Sign in with Apple is an iOS feature that allows you to securely create an account and sign in with your Apple ID.
To create a Kickstarter account with your Apple ID on a web browser simply click “Sign in with Apple” on the login page. You will then be prompted for a name and to choose which email address you wish to share with us; you can choose to either use the email address tied to your Apple ID or to hide it and use a relay email system instead.
This feature is also available when using Kickstarter through the app.
I already have a Kickstarter account, can I use the new Sign in with Apple feature?
At the moment, it isn’t possible to sign in to an existing Kickstarter account using the new Sign in with Apple feature. Additionally, if you already had a Kickstarter account and you have created a new account with your Apple ID, please note that we do not currently support merging accounts.
I signed up with Apple and I’m having trouble accessing the survey
If you opted to hide your email address when signing up with Apple, project creators will only be able to see your private relay email in their backer report at the end of the campaign.
Please note that the unique relay address tied to your Kickstarter account can only be used for communication with Kickstarter. This means that any communication sent outside of our platform by the creator will unfortunately not reach your inbox.
In this case, we'd recommend reaching out to the project creator to clarify the situation and to request that they update your email on their end.
If the creator is using Kickstarter's own survey system, they should be able to update the email address on file by editing the exported backer report. They can find your pledge by looking up your backer number.
If they are using a third-party survey service, such as BackerKit, the creator will need to provide them with your new email address so that they can update the information on their end.
How can I disconnect my Kickstarter account from my Apple ID?
If you signed up to Kickstarter using the “Continue with Apple” option and would now like to disconnect the accounts, please contact our Support team who will be able to advise on next steps.
Please note that after your account has been disconnected from your Apple ID you will no longer be able to use the Sign in with Apple feature.
Can I start a project using Apple ID?
Unfortunately, at this time it isn’t possible to start a project from a Kickstarter account that is linked to an Apple ID. If you wish to create a project on an account that was created using the “Continue with Apple” option you will first need to disconnect the accounts.
