Whether you’re a first-time creator thinking about launching your first project, or a seasoned creator looking for a new challenge, Kickstarter’s Open Calls are prompts designed to encourage all kinds of creators to get involved and bring their creative ideas to life.
The Open Calls we are currently running include: “Make 100”, “Zine Quest”, “Long Story Short”, “Micro May”, “Heartstrings & Hardbacks”, and “Witchstarter”.
An Open Call will typically run for the entirety of a calendar month, and we’ll start promoting it on our site beforehand, to give creators time to prepare. As long as a project launches within the associated month, and fits the criteria of the prompt, it’ll be included.
The best way to make sure that your project is included is to head to the landing page for the prompt, click “Apply to Participate”, and submit the application form. Our Editorial team is responsible for tagging qualifying projects and they will review all applications they receive within 1-3 business days.
