Using custom referral tags on your campaign will allow you to see which external sites brought backers to your project page, as well as the number of successful backings that were generated from a particular link.
If your project hasn't launched yet you can set up your custom referral tags on the Promotion tab of your project editor. For a project that has already launched you can set this up through your creator dashboard, located on the left-hand side of your project page.

Once you’ve customized the name of a referral tag, for example ‘Twitter campaign’, and clicked the “Generate Tag” button, you’ll be given a unique URL to use for sharing your project.
Any results from your custom referral tags will be displayed on the dashboard page. This will include the number of pledges generated, % of total funds accounted for, and total amount pledged.

Please note that link clicks are not included in these results. If you're interested in this data, we would recommend setting up Google Analytics for your project.
Can I create custom referral tags before my project launches?
Yes! You can create custom referral tags ahead of launching your project on the Promotion tab of your project editor.
