We’re working hard to open up Kickstarter to project creators in even more countries. If you’d like to be notified if your country becomes available, simply fill in this form.
Project creation is currently available to individuals in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, Japan, Poland, Greece, and Slovenia.
You can find out more about who can use Kickstarter here.
How are there projects with locations not in the eligible countries?
If a project’s location is set to a city outside of our eligible countries, this is likely because the project creator meets the requirements for launching a project, but they are living or launching a project abroad. In other cases the project itself may be a collaboration between international team members.
Can I launch with Stripe Atlas?
You may be able to launch now by using Stripe Atlas, a service provided by Kickstarter's payment processor, Stripe. Stripe Atlas allows creators located outside of the US to incorporate US companies with US bank accounts, and run projects in USD on Kickstarter.
Keep in mind, it's important to understand the obligations of incorporating a US company, and Kickstarter is not able to guarantee your approval for the Stripe Atlas program.
With Stripe Atlas, Stripe will assist you in incorporating a US business entity with a relevant tax ID number. Then, when setting up your project on Kickstarter, you can use these details. If the information you submit for either your entity or the main individual cannot immediately be verified, you will be given a link to provide information directly to our payment processor, Stripe, where there is more flexibility to input details, including selecting a different country for the individual’s residence and/or tax information.
