Yes! After your project has been submitted for review, you will have the option to generate your project’s URL on the Promotion tab of your project editor. After clicking the “Generate my URL” button, you will be asked to confirm your project’s URL. Once confirmed you can share this with potential backers ahead of launch.
Please note: If you have activated the Pre-launch page for your project, the generated URL will take backers to this page. Once launched, this same URL will lead people to your project page. If you didn’t generate your URL before launching you can find your project’s URL in the search bar of your web browser.
It’s also important to note that your project’s URL will be generated based on your project’s title. If there are any keywords that you feel are important to have in the URL, make sure to include these in the title before generating the URL.
Can I customize my project URL?
Here’s an example of what a project URL generally looks like:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/[yourVanityURL]/[yourProjectTitle]
The [yourVanityURL] part of the URL will show your vanity URL. If you haven’t set a vanity URL, then your user ID will take its place (it will look like a string of numbers). You can read more about how to set a vanity URL here.
The [yourProjectTitle] part of the URL will be each word of the project title separated by a hyphen. For example, if the title is “Your Project Title”, the end of your project’s URL will look like “/your-project-title”.
If you need to change the URL after generating it, our Support team can help. Just reach out to us here.
Please keep in mind that resetting the vanity URL, or changing the project URL, will break any links you’ve already shared, so you will need to share the new/updated URL with your network of followers again.
