Projects on Kickstarter can last anywhere from 1 day, to a maximum of 60 days. We've done some research, and found that projects lasting any longer than 60 days are rarely successful.
When planning your project, we recommend setting it to run for 30 days or less. Campaigns with shorter durations often have higher success rates, and create a helpful sense of urgency around your project.
On the Basics tab of the project editor you’ll see two options for setting your campaign’s funding duration:
- You can select a specific date & time for your project to end (e.g. December 31st at 11:00PM),
- Or a set number of days for your project to run (e.g. 30 days from launch).
If you select a set number of days, your project’s end time will be at the same time of day as when you launched (for example, if you launch at 6:00PM, your project will end at 6:00PM on the last day of the campaign).
Please keep in mind that after your project has launched you will not be able to adjust the deadline or funding duration of the campaign.
