If using the Kickstarter Pledge Manager, creators can make some edits to their backers' orders after they've gone through Pledge manager checkout.
Edits that can be made:
Add new add‑ons to a backer’s order
Upgrade rewards (for example, move a backer from one reward tier to a reward tier of equal or higher value)
Change SKUs / item variants (e.g. size, color, region-specific variants)
Swap items by:
Refunding the original item
Then using the Order edit tools to add the new replacement item
All order edits can be initiated via the Backer report by clicking on the backer's name to open the pledge detail modal, then clicking 'Edit Order'. Once the edit has been made and submitted, backers review and pay for their updated order in a dedicated Backer order edit checkout flow.
To upgrade a reward
Select the reward you’d like the backer to be upgraded to. Any reward of equal or higher value will appear
Submit edits to the backer
Upon confirming edits, the backer will be able to respond to any item preference questions and be charged for difference between their original reward and the new reward, and any applicable shipping and tax. The backer will be refunded the original shipping and tax associated with their original reward
To add a new add-on
Select the new add-on(s) you’d like to add to a backer’s order
Submit edits to the backer
Upon confirming edits, the backer will be able to respond to any item preference questions and be charged for the new add-on and any applicable shipping and tax
To adjust survey question responses
Select “Edit preferences” next to any item and change the SKU selection
Submit the preference change
