I’m looking to run a Music project

Hello listeners, and welcome to Kickstarter Music! If you’re just tuning in, don’t touch that dial -- you’ve found the wildest, most original and inspiring frequency out there, coming to you live and direct 24/7 for the last ten years.

That’s right: in the decade plus that Kickstarter has been a thing, thousands upon thousands of musicians from all over the world have come here to find the support they need to record demo tapes and repress legendary albums, fund vanguard orchestral performances and community park fests. We even make soundtracks for movies that don’t exist and go on tour dressed like medieval knights. Everything from community music education endeavors to the Voyager Golden Record has a place on Kickstarter Music.

Basically it rocks in here, literally all the time -- and you’re welcome to join us whenever you want. We’d love it, in fact! You can click here when you’re ready to get started, or check out the links below to get you on your way.

If you’re looking for some inspiration, take a look at the Music Explore page. We’ve also shared some of our favorite projects below:

  • Better (25 years) late than never, Presidents of the United States used Kickstarter to give their album the full phonographic release it never had - colored vinyl!

  • BATS had us at ‘science-based, groove-oriented metal/post-punk’, and after a long road they were able to get their 3rd album, ALTER NATURE over the finish line.

  • In 2019, Black Flags Over Brooklyn raised funds for an anti-fascist, anti-racist extreme metal festival, and bands from all over the world performed at it.

  • Two-time Grammy winning composer, Christopher Tin, achieved the highest funded classical music project with his 3rd album, To Shiver the Sky. He’s recording it at the legendary Abbey Road Studios with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.

  • After funding the movie through Kickstarter in 2017, two years later the creators returned to create a glow-in-the-dark(!!) vinyl of the AURORA movie’s soundtrack.
