If you have difficulty pledging to a live project as a guest or your guest pledge is declined when the project reached its deadline, please reach out to your bank or card issuer as a first step. There may not be a problem with your credit card, but they might require some additional information in order to approve the transaction:
- Mention that the charge is from Kickstarter.
- Explain how Kickstarter works: Backers are only charged for their pledge when a project ends or hits its funding goal.
- State the amount you pledged for the project.
- Share the date in which you pledged to the project. If the project has ended, please also share the date in which the pledge collection was attempted.
Once your bank or card issuer confirms the transaction is approved, please re-try your pledge right from the project page, if the project is still live.
If the pledge was declined when the project ended, please click the “Update or retry payment method” button in the notification email and complete the steps to retry the pledge collection. You have exactly seven days from the project’s deadline (down to the minute) to complete your pledge.
