Stripe, our payments partner, handles transactions conducted through Kickstarter. They are responsible for filing and mailing 1099-K's for all US-based creators who meet both of the following thresholds in the current tax year:
• More than $20,000 in gross sales, and
• More than 200 transactions.
In general, even if you don’t receive a 1099-K, the funds you raise on Kickstarter are still subject to taxes. We recommend that you consult our tax guide, and speak to an accountant or a financial advisor for more information.
